For a very long time, people thought they were the centre of the Universe. All the shining points of light in the sky were just part of our little corner of the cosmos. In the 20th century, we soon discovered that our galaxy, the Milky Way, was just one of several hundred billion! The galaxies of our universe, those cosmic islands, are born, evolve and interact like animals in a herd. But is it nature or nurture that determines how they develop? We will explore the evolution of galaxies, missions like the James Webb space telescope, which will help us understand them better, and what’s next in the study of galaxies.

Attend a conference by astrophysicist Nathalie Ouellette under the dome of the Chaos Theatre and learn more about galaxy formation and evolution. (In French only)

Tickets on sale at espacepourlavie.ca ticketing.
