The sun has barely set when visitors of all ages head out along the illuminated paths through the gardens, to enjoy the colourful lanterns and marvel at how they show nature in a new and vibrant light.

Chinese Garden

This fall, the carefully crafted lanterns will be telling a new story. UNESCO has declared 2015 the International Year of Light. The Chinese Garden invites you into the heart of a Zhuang village in Guangxi to celebrate the New Year, along with a lion, cormorant fishermen and glittering fireflies! The glowing displays offer an original and sometimes surprising perspective on the myths surrounding Chinese New Year.

Japanese Garden

The cycle of the seasons is an essential part of Japanese culture. As the Garden is illuminated at dusk, nature reveals its many changes in a new light. The trees, waterfalls and stones suddenly seem to belong to another world.
