Each year, the Cercle des mycologues de Montréal (CMM), founded 75 years ago, organizes, in collaboration with the Jardin botanique, an exhibition of freshly collected mushroom specimens representing various species. The exhibition is held in the main entrance hall of the Jardin botanique and is open to the public.

The mushrooms come from a planned CMM foray, as well as from specimens recently collected by members throughout the Greater Montréal area. These mushrooms are brought to the Jardin botanique, where they are identified by specialists.

On Sunday, September 13, 2026, from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., the CMM will welcome visitors to the Jardin botanique and provide information about the organization, mycology in general (including a book table), and the mushrooms on display. This first point of contact has inspired many Quebecers to take an interest in wild mushroom foraging.
