Scattered throughout the Arboretum, sixteen musicians from the SuperMusique ensemble will perform Arborientation, a site-specific work by Montreal composer and trombonist Scott Thomson.
The work is made up of 32 ten-minute solos, which begin one after the other with a slight overlap. Visitors walk from one musician to the next, sometimes stopping halfway to hear multiple instruments simultaneously to get a fresh new take on the sound.
At the different stations, discover the trees carefully chosen by the composer and from which he drew inspiration. The event program takes the form of a cartographic score presenting both the performer and the associated tree.
Don't miss this beautiful encounter between music and botany.
A Productions SuperMusique event co-produced with Le Vivier.
This event will be postponed to the next day if it rains.
