Celebrating Entomophilia in Frédéric-Back Park
One of the Insectarium's Celebrations of Entophilia
On the occasion of the International Day for Biological Diversity and as part of the Celebrations of Entomophilia, Space for Life presents three monumental artworks will be installed in Frédéric-Back Park, for the whole summer!
The works showcasing the diversity of insects will be integrated into the park’s interpretation activities. When selecting the works, the jury gave high priority to the ecological approach of the artists.
À l'antenne, by Architecturama, features two pairs of giant antennas made of recycled steel and wood emerging from the grass.
Hortus Formica, by Frédéric Saia, evokes the important role of ants in their habitat, through wood, woody debris, soil and seeds.
Bivouac, by the Escargo Collective, pays tribute to the spectacular complexity and beauty of butterfly wings with reused masts and sails, wood, nets and other salvaged goods.
Activities in the park

Discover the entomofauna of Frédéric-Back Park. During the animation, learn more about insects and the benefits of greening the spaces we share with them. Take photos galore and participate in the Biodiversity Challenge, a participatory science project that helps scientists to protect biodiversity.
