“The best way to predict the future is to design it.”

Do you remember the first time you saw a shooting star? The first time you dove into a lake, or the first time you were startled by lightning? Nature is not just a source of wonder: it is an incredible and inexhaustible reservoir of ideas and solutions that can help solve environmental challenges.

Featuring a 360-degree projection, Design the Future will take you back to moments spent in nature, from your childhood days to the present. You’ll also discover research projects inspired by nature and its impressive ability to adapt.

An invitation to give the next generations the chance to experience these unique interactions with nature—a precondition to create tomorrow’s memories. Come and enjoy an immersive experience that will fill you with hope.

NUMIX 2016 award for Best Museum Production.

Design the Future is a show inspired by Buckminster Fuller, the designer of the museum’s famous dome, and considered one of the fathers of contemporary environmental thought. His assertion “The best way to predict the future is to design it” still carries meaning today, and it is one of his famous quotes that inspired the title of the show.
