Come take a closer look at the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter! Learn more about the night sky! The Planétarium’s team will help you use our telescopes and answer any astronomy questions you might have.
Free on-site stargazing activities
- Naked-eye observation of the constellations Orion and Leo, as well as the Moon, Venus, and Jupiter through a telescope.
- Special programming in the museum lobby: four presentations on observation tools, with practical tips provided by the Planetarium's presenters.
- Presented by Bibliothèques Montréal.
Practical information
All activities are free, except for the regular film program, from 7:30 p.m. to 8:45 p.m. From 8:45 p.m., there will be a free presentation of the film Messengers of Time and Space which deals with the prestigious telescopes that dot the world, punctuated with fabulous images of the Universe.
In case of bad weather, indoor activities will still take place. The staff will then offer guided tours of the meteorite exhibition.
The observation is offered by the Planetarium's animation team, as well as volunteers from the Montreal Planetarium Astronomy Society (SAPM) and the Federation of Amateur Astronomers of Quebec.
The Montreal Planetarium regularly hosts Telescope Rendezvous, evenings dedicated to stargazing. It's a great opportunity to learn more about astronomy in a friendly atmosphere.
