This is one of the best times of the year to look up at the sky: the Perseid meteor shower is back! Bring your family or friends to the Montreal Planetarium for a free stargazing experience that combines science, nature, and astronomy.
On August 12 and 13, join us in front of the Planetarium to gaze at the sky through telescopes, guided by volunteers from the Montreal Planetarium Astronomy Society (SAPM) and our education team. You can also admire celestial objects with the naked eye on the grassy area of Olympic Park, near the StarCité Montréal cinema. For your comfort, dress warmly and bring a blanket or mat to lie down on.
Attend the show *The Origin of the Perseids*, presented in French in the Milky Way Theater and in English in the Chaos Theater. The performance, which lasts about 20 minutes, is offered every 30 minutes on a first-come, first-served basis.
Continuous science activities await you in the lobby throughout the evening. It’s a wonderful way to explore the mysteries of the sky, even if clouds decide to make an appearance.
This event is part of a series of free activities open to everyone: “Les Rendez-vous télescopes” at the Planetarium.
In case of bad weather, only indoor activities will take place.
