Experience the timeless magic of the Chinese shadow puppetry

Pangu, the giant who created the world, its protagonists and the four animals, symbols and guardians of the four cardinal directions*, come to life through the ancient art of the Chinese shadow puppetry. Tales and music bring them to life, as they come alive between a fabric veil and a lantern.

Follow the presentation of our agile educators. Then, create your own Pangu puppet or one of the four animals, also referred to as the four divinities 四灵 (Si Ling) or four images 四象 (Si Xiang): the Black Tortoise of the North 北方玄武 (Bei Fang Xuan Wu), the Vermillion Bird of the South 南方朱雀 (Nan Fang Zhu Que), the Azure Dragon of the East 东方青龙 (Dong Fang Qing Long), and the White Tiger of the West 西方白虎 (Xi Fang Bai Hu).

* Notably in Taoism, Chinese astronomy, Feng Shui, and Chinese medicine.
