Tuesdays, starting at 3 p.m., the Planétarium is tailoring its visiting experience to the needs of people with autism or other people with sensory sensitivities.

What’s changing on those afternoons:

  • Lighting and sound levels are softened in our theaters and Rouge 2100 exhibition area.
  • Sensory kits are available (and this at all times, even outside Sensory-friendly afternoons).

During these sessions, everyone can feel comfortable:

  • Entering and exiting at their own pace during screenings of the show.
  • Expressing their needs (making noise, talking or moving around, and so on).
  • Using their digital devices to meet accessibility needs.
  • Accessing a quiet room for greater calm.

Can neurotypical people also come to the show?

  • Yes, the program remains the same.
  • While knowing that the environment will be adapted to the needs of autistic people and their families, everyone is welcome to Sensory-friendly afternoons.
  • The soothing ambiance may also be attractive to people with certain sound and visual sensitivities.

We’re excited to be offering this pilot project, whose aim is to test-run the experience so that we can make the necessary adjustments and better serve our user base.
